Dr. Teshome S. Kelkile

Dr. Kelkile, Teshome Shibre, M.D, Ph.D, is Adjunct Associate Professor Department of Psychiatry, Addis Ababa. Dr. Kelkile currently practices Psychiatry in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. He is actively involved in Ph.D. supervisions and collaborates in a psychosis project, “Studying the Context of recent Onset Psychoses in Ethiopia to develop interventions to improve outcomes: The SCOPE Study”

Dr. Kelkile was a member of the Department of Psychiatry, Addis Ababa University, and he was the chair of the Department of Psychiatry, 2011-2012. Dr. Kelkile was a principal investigator of the Butajira Course and Outcome of Schizophrenia and Bipolar Disorders Research (2006-2012). The Butajira study conducted a door-to-door interview for over 68,000 adult populations and followed the identified cohort with diagnoses of schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and depression for over 15-years. He has published over 70 articles in national and international peer-reviewed journals.
